We are pleased to share our Customer Protection Guarantee, designed to give you peace of mind. We value the trust you have placed in us, and we are committed to working with you to ensure your assets remain safe and secure.

Our Guarantee

We guarantee reimbursement for any money lost due to unauthorized activity in your employer-sponsored retirement account. To qualify, you must:

• Register your account online with Mutual of America
• Regularly review and keep your contact information up to date
• Report any suspected identity theft or other suspicious activity in your account to Mutual of America immediately

What Our Guarantee Doesn’t Cover: 

• Sharing of Credentials: Loss resulting from sharing your credentials or failing to secure them from anyone, including  family members or acquaintances.
• Transfers to External Accounts: Distributions that were sent to external accounts that are beneficially owned by you.
• Mailed Checks Fraudulently Cashed: Distribution checks that were mailed to your address on file, or to another address at your direction, but fraudulently cashed by someone else.
• Third-Party Security Incidents: This includes fraud, malware, or security issues caused by the plan sponsor, financial professional, third-party administrator (TPA), or anyone else you’ve given access to your account information.
• Loss Due to Unreported Issues: If you have experienced identity theft, a security breach, or a malware-related incident, it is essential that you report the issue to a Mutual of America representative immediately. Failure to do so may compromise your eligibility under our Customer Protection Guarantee.
