Transfer among Investment Alternatives - adjusting your allocation quickly and easily
Choosing the right allocation from among the available Interest and Investment Alternatives is generally not something you do and just forget about. Your personal needs and preferences may change, as may economic and market conditions. Recognizing this, Mutual of America's Traditional IRA provides flexibility by allowing transfers of all or a portion of your account balance among the Investment Alternatives as well as changes for the allocation of future contributions, easily and without a charge.

You can request transfers either by mail, telephone or through this Web site (except that transfers into the International Investment Alternatives must be in writing, sent by regular mail). When you open a Mutual of America IRA, you will be given a Personal Identification Number (PIN). If you wish to make a transfer by telephone, you would dial 1-866-954-4321, then give us your PIN and your instructions. To complete a transfer on this Web site, you would log in to the My Account area with your PIN, where you can access transfer options directly.

Mutual of America representatives are available on our toll-free line between 9:00 AM and 9:00 PM Eastern time on a business day. At other times recorded instructions can be left. Transactions requested when the NYSE is open (generally, until 4:00 PM Eastern time) are processed that day. Transactions requested at other times are processed on the next business day. A confirmation of any transfer or change in the way future contributions are to be allocated is mailed shortly thereafter.

Direct transfers
If you already have a Traditional IRA with another financial institution or a trustee, you may be able to make a nontaxable direct transfer to a Mutual of America Traditional IRA. Contact a Mutual of America regional field office representative for more information.
