Choosing the right mix
Mutual of America’s FPA is a variable accumulation annuity contract. This means
that you invest your FPA account value in a variety of Investment Alternatives
offering different investment objectives, the investment performance results of
which are not guaranteed. You also have the option of investing all or a
percentage of your account value in a fixed interest rate Interest Accumulation
Account.
Our selection of Interest and Investment Alternatives recognizes that people have
different comfort levels with respect to risk and return, as well as different
financial goals at retirement. These Alternatives include investment categories
such as domestic stocks, corporate and government bonds, and short-term money market
instruments. So, whether you are a conservative, middle-of-the-road or more aggressive
investor, you will be able to find a mix of Investment Alternatives that is
right for you!

company's General Account and a wide array of Separate Account Investment Funds.
The Investment Funds purchase shares of underlying mutual funds or portfolios
which include the 23 funds of the Mutual of America Investment Corporation,
Fidelity Investments Variable Insurance Products Funds: Mid Cap Portfolio,
Equity-Income, Asset Manager and Contrafund Portfolios, DWS Variable Series I:
